Current Limiting Fuse Function

The high voltage current limiting fuse is an overload protection and short circuit protection device used for electric motors, transformers and other electrical equipment. The fuse is mainly composed of a fuse tube, a contact seat pillar insulator and a base. The fuse tube consists of a melt tube (porcelain tube), end cover, top cover, ceramic core, melt and quartz sand.
The fuse tube is made of talc ceramic or high frequency ceramic, which has high mechanical strength and heat resistance. The quartz sand filled into the fuse tube forms small solid medium slits that divide, cool and adsorb the arc, ensuring it is quickly extinguished.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the primary application of the XRNP1 high voltage fuse?
The XRNP1 is designed for overload and short circuit protection in high voltage electrical equipment, specifically for electric motors and transformers.
What material is used for the fuse tube and why?
The fuse tube is made from talc ceramic or high-frequency ceramic. These materials offer high mechanical strength and excellent heat resistance for safety during operation.
What is the breaking capacity of this current limiting fuse?
The XRNP1 series has a rated breaking capacity of 31.5 KA, providing robust protection against high current faults.
How does the quartz sand within the fuse assist in safety?
The quartz sand creates small medium slits that help cool and adsorb charged particles in the arc. The resulting gas pressure increase exerts a deionization effect, extinguishing the arc rapidly.
Which national standards do these fuses comply with?
The XRNP1 series high voltage fuses are manufactured and tested in accordance with the GB/T 15166.2 national standards.
What are the available rated voltages for the XRNP1 series?
They are available in three main rated voltage specifications: 12kV, 24kV, and 40.5kV to suit different power system requirements.
